Hi. I have set up a basic CCcam server on a DM500 and I have 4 people connected, but I am unsure how to remove a peer from the server. Can anybody help?

Use DCC to connect to the DM500. Go to the FTP tab, open foder var/etc. Right click cccаm.cfg - edit - put a # in front of F line, save and exit.

tried that and peer is still connected. Would it make a difference if I restarted the cam on the server box

That's really bad advice. { Sorry bud but it is } :-ohcrap

If you just # out the F line your peer will still be trying to connect to you.

You have two options.

1. Speak to your peer and ask him/her to remove the C line { This is the best option }
2. Change your F line to this F: user pass 0 0 0 { 0:0:0 } { } { } his/her.dns.org

Option 2 means they stay connected but get nothing from you, this stops all traffic and will prevent and illegal user causing you stability problems.

How do you know your peer is still connected?

It is a good idea to reboot the box whenever you change your cccаm.cfg file, or better still do a mains power off/on.

In the CCcam.cfg you remove the # from log/warnings and then check the log, if you see any warnings you can assume an old or unwanted peer is still trying to connect. This makes CCcam very unstable.
It's a good idea to restart CCcam after and major changes but its not needed if adding or editing F and C lines.
