I had one of the first ones to come out, but in the last few years I have been using a traditional stove.

Now I am getting on a bit I can't be harsed ( :D ) so I bought a new microwave today.

It just shows how easily pleased I am when I stood in awe watching as my frozen stiff chicken curry cooked to piping hot perfection in just six minutes. :D

But just how do they cook so fast? Thanks in advance. :D

The microwaves hit s a watermolecule and stirs them up

as it only hits water a little energy is needed for each waterdrop and nothing is wasted on anything else :)

I was told the microwave doesn't cook the food, it hypnotises the eater into thinking the food is cooked.

The micro waves apparently seep through and out of the open vents at the top of the machine and into our brains. :D

The ovens work by firing microwave signals into the oven's interior, the signals then bounce about in a pre-determined pattern so that they end up in the food (or whatever it is you're nuking!!!), this then causes water molecules to vibrate creating friction which then generates the heat to turn a frozen lump into a steaming hot meal, thing is that they only heat up the first inch or two, hence why after a certain period you sometimes have to stir the contents (otherwise you end up with a steaming hot moat of curry with a big frozen lump in the middle!!!), but eiter way, they can produce really cool plasma balls with things like lit matchsticks and cut grapes!!! :D

Just a little side-note, there is no radioactivity (like what's used in a nuclear power station, or a simple smoke alarm) used in microwave ovens, despite the term "Nuking in the microwave", but the Micro wave frequency used is near to the 1800mhz frequency that Vodaphone & O2 currently use in the UK on their mobile networks (which is why I never use their networks!!!)...

Also, keep your microwave clean of any exploded food debris, otherwise it'll hamper the performance of your nukebox, mine was nearly thrown out cos it wasn't working properly, then I cleaned it out and it works beautifully, like it always used to... :D

Another thing, the radiation seepage is caused by failing seals around the door, but it doesn't really cause any problems to anyone around the oven, unless they have their head pressed against the door watching the food go round and round and round and round and round and round and round....... :D
