How easy is it to pick up 16E

My Satellite Setup
80cm motorised dish with Icecrypt 1.2
My Location
UK - Yorks
I've seen the maps and it looks easy as.

I'm using a good old SL65 with the little dish that comes with it and I have no problem in picking up

Astra 28.2/5

Astra 23.5

Astra 19.2

Hotbird 13.0

Eurobird 9.0

Eutelsat 7.0 Even the 100cm beam channels

Sirius 4 4.8

Atlantic Bird 3 5.0west

These are the ones I have just tried in the last few months but for some reason I can not pick up 16E even using the pre set channels.

I have everything set up as it should be but I am doing something wrong?
 
You really need an 80cm dish to get even a few Channels from 16E.

An even bigger dish gets loads more.

You'll be lucky to get anything from their with the little Camping Kit Dish, but if you want to try again, the strongest Channel by far is AlsatTV on 10956 H 2621 2/3.
 
16e is easy enough to pick up with a large enough dish, but with a tiny dish, not possible.

Think I got a couple of transponders from a Sky minidish a few times, but that will be it for you , if any.

I can't remember the strongest tranponder off the top of my head, might be the one that carries A L S A T TV
 
Had a small handful on a zone 2 with careful alignment but in general a much larger dish required for 16e. The beamwidth on such a small dish is far to wide to differentiate between close neighbouring satellites.
 
Ive had a few tp's from16E on a zone 1 dish no problem. Pick your channels carefully - Try the Als&t channel 10956 H 2821 2/3. Thats an easy one even on a minidsh. You wont get much else, but try some of the high symbol rate Bulgarian channels.
 
Quite surprised with that as going by lyngsat it says a 50cm dish should be fine.

I think Ive done quite well picking up what I have done so far on my little camping dish. Ive got it attached to the garden fence.
 
W2 is an old satellite - shes due for replacement later this year, and the downlink powers vary between frequency.

The other problem is that many frequencies get blatted from both sides, with 13E and 19E both potentially interfering
 
To add to your list of sats, try 42E, 39E and 30W, I would have thought you'd be able to get those too.
 
This is a strange one for me!,some TP's come and go,but this is filed under fringe reception for me with my 80cm mesh dish!!

30 W is one that is set in the reciever so will give this ago the other two might suffer from tree block.

Looking at trying 10E for the feeds how easy is that and 12.5w
 
10E Feeds are not at all strong - Even Associated Press really needs a minimum of 80cm.

The recommended dish size for UP8 Charlie (the main AP feed) is 2.4m! (It can be got occasionally on an 80 cm but they turn the power up and down on the downlink)

Forget 10E on that little dish - you need an 80 cm dish absolute minimum for the feeds, and even then I get breakup during bad weather.
