How to delete conversations (PM) or it's not possible/allowed

I'm not sure it's possible although I suppose must be. But i have to ask, why bother? The messages are only viewable by the participants.

There is a clear option available to select and delete individual or multiple Conversations - and you can elect to accept or to refuse further messages from anyone else in those Conversations.

In case personal information get stolen/hacked

I don't think that deletes the conversation, it just places access to it out of bounds. I'm not sure either it has any effect on the message as viewed at the recipient's end.

..... LEAVE .....

It will then ask if you wish to accept further messages or not.
But I want to delete it if possible instead of receiving further msg.

You should not be posting anything that might compromise yourself or others online if an account is hacked......
Don't worry it's not going to compromise others
I assumed conversation can be deleted only helped a member with a free dish. If pm is not possible to delete never mind.

I have deleted PMs before (but that was when I ran into limit/ inbox full).

I doubt I could retrieve them though if the person at the other end has kept a copy (or taken a screenshot and stored elsewhere) then info is always going to be 'out there'.

So the question remains:
Does a Private Message stay somewhere in the forum database, when both the sender and the recipient(s) have "left" the conversation?
Or are all these messages staying in the database, forever?

If the latter is the case, I wonder what the software programmers were thinking?

A quick word with our sponsors.

Quoted from the link by Channel Hopper:
They will be deleted from the database once all participants have left.

Automatically - once the last participant has left the conversation, it is deleted.

Makes sense. A bit like with regular mail, on paper.
But you can edit your mail a little bit longer, after first sending.

@Gladstones thought I'd already left convo, sorry must have clicked wrong check box . Done now , well I think so

If all leave conversation it gets deleted automatically

I can't see it anymore in pms

Of course, if a site employs a proper backup regime then all the deleting the world won't do any good!
