How do I find and store satellites manually ?

I have a DM800 and motek 2100 currently setup with USALS.

In the menu I go

Menu - setup - service searching - tuner config - tuner A - (then simple for positioner USALS)

But what do I select to allow me to find and store sats without USALS ?

Thx

Set the receiver up for motor use as a DiSEqC 1.2 system

yes but I am confused because it gives 4 different options

1. Toneburst A/B
2. DiSEqC A/B
3. DiSEqC A/B/C/D
4. Single

Which one do I select ?

None of them, DiSEqC 1.2 is a motor option, but set the option to single anyway.

I do not understand. My motek 2100 is Diseqc 1.2 compatible but there is no option to select it as such.

Those are diseqc 1.0 options. The motor setup will be in a seperate menu.

Somewhere in one of your config menus you should have a phrase something like "Many satellites via a Diseqc rotor"

Choose that option.

Ah, I have seen that before. I will go look for it and report back.

Cheers lads

Tuner configuration > advanced tuner > DiSEqC options > 1.2
Make sure 'use USALs for this sat' is not highlighted. Then move over to positioner menu for East/West movement.

Brilliant. I done that but now it asks for me to delete a load of satellites. Should I delete them or not ?

"Delete no more configured satellite Intelsat906 (64.2E) ?

Probably best to clear down the lot, just in case any USALs info remains.

If I delete them then what happens if I switch back to USALS - will all the sats have to be re-scanned again ?

You cannot switch between the two, USALs needs latitude/longitude coordinates to work correctly.

Clear down fully and use one or the other
