How to increase the elevation of a satellite dish

My Satellite Setup
Ariva, Samsung and Comag PVR 2 100CL
3 dishes, 80cm, 100cm, 140cm
My Location
Murcia - Costa Blanca.
I have a dish which seems to have reached the end of its elevation. I am attaching a photo. Can I get it to point further up the sky line. Is there a trick to do this?
The dish has reached the top of the bracket. I have even taken the support off vertical. There must be another way.

Reverse the bracket.

(Turn it upside down)

Looks like a Triax slider jobbie - not the easiest elevation adjustment mechanism in the world!
 
I did think of that, but doubted it would work. I am not sure the bracket comes off cleanly from the dish so I can turn it around. I´ll give it a go. Thank you Tivu.
 
Or stick something between holder and vertical pipe.

It does come off when diassembled - it's designed to.

It's also designed to be reversible in order to provide two different ranges of elevation adjustment - one for northerly latitudes and one for a tad closer to the equator.

I'm talking about the bracket between the dish and the mount, not the actual dish backplate, by the way.

If you've mislaid the destruction sheet, then I'm sure it can be found on the Interweb thingy, somewhere.

ie The ugly lump in the middle!

If it's a TD110, then that bit of bracket has a strengthening brace within it - be careful to ensure you refit this or the dish will be inclined to twist on the bracket.
 
Rima from Latvia, I may try that if all else fails. I´ll follow Tivu´s instructions for now and try to turn it around. Makes sense. Thanks again.
 
Yes, fairly simple to reverse the AzEL bracket.

Absolutely right. Really is a cumbersome arrangement. I have decided to find some kind of collar to fit on the upright pole to stop the dish from sliding down and allow me to swing it freely round to look for satellites. The elevation is another matter, heavy too.

I've used one of these:

Especially useful if you have a motor, but it makes azimuth adjustments much easier. Having had a Triax in the past I can sympathise with the elevation frustration. You can never get it to lock up in exactly the right place. Part of the reason I upgraded to a Gibertini (though that's not really easy to adjust).
 
Totally confirm everyones comments ..
Fabulous dishes ..and very high gain ..but the elevation adjustment is a nightmare ..
Paticularly when atop a ladder in a bit of a breeze ..
Made to be adjusted by someone with 3 hands ..
Perhaps we will one day evolve to have a spare .
..but only going to be useful to triax dish installers...so may have to wait a few millenia.

Come on VS, surely someone who can manufacture dish extension panels can knock up a genetically mutated clone in their spare time......

Looks like rogue space got in the original URL _http://tinyurl.com/bq9g2dp I use one of these as well, saves a lot of frustration and swearing.

Now I see what it is, you can get similar off fleabay for a touch over a quid, inc. delivery: Got a couple of packs to replace those nasty crimp-on jobs around the bigger hoses on the car.

They do not look strong enough to hold such a heavy dish. I was thinking of something like some sort of collar with a flat neck that the dish could swivel round. Maybe some sort of light fitting might do the job. Or one of those clamps that hold weights on bar bells.

I use a jubilee clip (for that is what it is) to support my 1.2M dish and motor when I have to readjust the alignment. It's yet to show any sign of giving way and has been in place for over three years. Of course when the motor assembly is tightened to the pole it's merely a safeguard.
 
Isn´t the band too thin?, or do you use some kind of padding underneath.
 
No, it's enough to stop the dish dropping down the mast.
