Up until now I've always thought that the omnikey reader could only be used on a mipsel DM (enigma2) I've been reading a very interesting thread on another forum and it would now seem thanks to someone called thE_29 he has created some drivers. I have no way of testing this as all my E1 boxes don't have a usb port but it might be usefull to someone with a DM7020. I know this tutorial is in regards to running oscam but I thought it might be adaptable?

It is certainly of use mate, I too have been reading several threads on this subject. I have 3 7020's in the pub , with sly uk and sly it cards. I'll be looking into applying this over the next week or so.

When this thread first came about I was using Nabilosat BH and the installation of the drivers went fine, since then I've changed to Dream elite 1.3. I now want to install the omnikey again but the install isnt behaving the same and I cant seem to get it running.

when i send the first command, ipkg install /tmp/libusb_0.1.12-r0_mipsel.ipk, it gave me an error about a file missing, so I manually created the file and sent the command again, all seemed ok.

When i send the second command, ipkg install /tmp/pcsc-lite_1.5.5-r0_mipsel.ipk, i get the below output
Code:
Installing pcsc-lite (1.5.5-r0) to root...
Configuring pcsc-lite
Adding system startup for /etc/init.d/pcscd.
Starting PCSC Daemon: pcscd.

As you can see theoutput isnt exactly the same as posted at the start of this thread.

Would anyone with Dream elite 1.3 in flash be willing to do the omnikey driver install to see if they get the same results?

Well after a lot of trying! I've decided this method dosn't work with with Dream Elite. I've posted elsewhere and will report back if I have more info.

Edit:-The Dream Elite guys are looking into it.

So the guys over at Dream ELite have come up with a new pack of drivers for the omnikey on DE 1.3
The intructions are.....

IPK and del.tgz for dm800hd PCSC support.

1. The smartcard reader should bhe inserted BEFORE boot dream and before install ipk files.
2. If the reader is unplugged and plugged without restart pcscd daemon, doesen’t work correctly.
To solve this problem restart pcscd from telnet session with:
/etc/init.d/pcscd restart
Instructions:
- All files are to be copied into /tmp directory with FTP into dreambox
- Go into telnet session on dream and do the following commands:
a. cd /tmp
b. ipkg install *.ipk
With dreambox remote control do:
- Press button green – yellow – select “Manual Install del package”
- Confirm installation of del.tgz package
The del.tgz will be installed AFTER ipk installation and modify some scripts that contains some little errors and a kernel module needed.
Do HARD RESET of DreamBox.

I've installed them but am struggling to get it going.
In newcs I have previously used <type>pcsc</type> <node>0</node> but this dosn't seem to work.
Anyone else fancy trying?
