How to install USB

PC: 3.4GHz Intel, 2024Mb Corsair ddr2, 2XWD Raptors on Raid 0, Gigabyte ATI HD2900XT 512Mb

Hi again,
I saw passete's pictures how to install regular usb port from PC but, I could not clearly see how to connect pins on motherboard. Anyone with more detailed "how to"

I'll probably annoy everyone more until I get my TD working for every buck it took from me:)

hi again

got usb thingy working. it shows sub device connected:storage
Got DG4.1a image installed. Intenet working perfectly from box.
Trying to install plugins it always says OK installed correctly but when i try to view plugins, emus installed on usb it says none are installed. In log it says something about USB mounting.

Question: where do I do that? What file system stick has to be. And if it is some kinky linux system how do I format it so hungry dragon likes it:)?

Sorry if my English is a bit messed up. Drank too much whisky while trying to figure things out. TD stuff is addictive:)

ftp to td does not write anything to var directory either, is this somehow connected with this new image i'm playing with?
 
Format stick to FAT32 laimsas.

What are you trying to write to var? Some files are read only.

I'll do that. Because now I think it was just FAT.

I was trying to update keys. So I was trying tu upload to var/keys all bunch of them but not succeded. TDC asked if I want to overwrite things already in directory, I answered yes but nothing has changed in directory.

additional info: my var directory is only 48% full
 
Also should I create any directories on the stick after formating, or it should be good to go?

After downloading emus, plugins, skins, the folders with contents will be made on your USB stick.

Not sure of your problem with ftp. Can you delete existing or move existing keys to PC and then try adding new keys?

I'll try that when be home tonight.
For ftp - I was not able upload keys that werent in original directory either (new upload not overwrite)
 
Came home formated stick. After downloading plugins which is confirmed as "installed correctly", I try to see what plugins are on the stick, it says no plugins installed.

Error log says ls: dev/blah blah// plugins//*.co no such file or directory.

Stick is in fully working mode not write protected

What should I do now? Getting a little embarrased. (I know, I know this is part of TD life:))

Checked on laptop - stick is empty
 
another log: read-only file system??????
it's not read-only in windows.....
 
Can you transfer anything from PC to stick? Try copying over any folder from your PC to stick using ftp to see what happens (mnt/usb)

I dont have USB folder in MNT folder only little hand with finger pointing (my guess it is just link to dev/shm/usb) thats were all my downloaded stuff sits until I reboot TD:)

I can upload anything I want to that shortcut but thats only until reboot

Only real folders are HDD and CD (the later is interesting:))
 
Yes, that link should show USB.

Either your USB stick is incompatible or somehow your wiring from USB - TD is wrong. Check those pin connections again.

Not much to check on pins as all 4 of them are together. I dont think there are other possible variant of hooking them.

Also if at least one pin would be wrong, TD would not inform me about USB DEVICE: STORAGE

Will check with another stick

Changed the stick. All is good now.
