How to see the USB files?

Today I cleared the HDD and moved the images onto USB. When the images were on the HDD the HDD showed in my FTP program but the USB doesn't.

How can I manually add items to the var folder if I cannot see it?

Had to find all the positions again - getting faster at it!
 
Did you use FWP to do it?

Do you not see this selection of folders?
 
In SDT image you see /usb directly under the root (as hdd).
Previously (I'm not sure to remembere well) I found /usb under /mnt ...
