How To Setup A Linux PC Card Server

Is anyone else having an issue with the Omnikey where, the ECM times are fantastic to all peers (Humping).... but every now and again (once an hour) the ECM times spike up to over 1.000?

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Thanks,

For testing purposes, I'd like to try smargo and euro1080 card (Irdeto2), or MTV unlimited one (Conax). Will card update work from any peers? or is it possible to add DVB-S tuner to server, and have card update received from there?

After more testing i think i've found out a little more about my problem,

It seems that whenever a peer becomes 'active', the ECM times shoot up to anything from 1.000 - 4.000 .... causing a freeze on everyones screen, and a loss of ECMs. This last for about 10seconds.

Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Also, anyone have any ideas on why it may be?

Any help would be moslty appreciated!

Thanks

pieface:- it would seem your problem is a rare one. Could you give a bit more detail please, for example :-

1. What version of NewCS
2. What version of CCcam
3. Are you giving out N or C lines
4. What reader are you using

1. 1.67
2. 2.0.11
3. I'm giving peers C lines
4. Omikey 3132

It generally happens when someone becomes an active client....

Seeing it happen quite a lot lately....

What's the recommended Cccam version to use?

Thanks m8, followed your tut and got her working first time. Running over wireless lan (temporary) and great ecm times, 0.108. No heat at all from the Omnikey Any chance you could extend the tutorial to cover sharing with CCcam. As you know NewCS only shares your local and would like to share some of my reshares on to family and friends.

Its an iso file. burn it to cd and then boot from the cd. You will need to change the pc bios to boot.

If you copied the xml from the tutorial it is admin and admin. If not this then open the xml in a text editor and you will see what it is set as.

Has anyone setup CCcam to run alongside this yet?

yes mate, I have. I'll add another tute soon. Now I've got the CCCCC 0.5.3 out I'll write the CCcam tutorial this week.

I tried a few tuts on the net for other linux editions, said they would work on ubuntu with a few changes. Got the cccamx86 and the other files into the correct directories but it just dont seem to want to fire up. Guess I have not susseed the changes to make lol.

Initially i was gonna put the server in the garage but Ubuntu seems pretty User Friendly even to novices like me so I think I will maybe keep it as an extra pc. If nothing else it will help with getting to grips with linux. I did the install direct from the terminal, didnt ftp anything or telnet. Works real well. The only thing is I cant start it with a script I just double click on the NewCs file and away she goes.

Will keep experimenting with it.
