Is your Humax patched?

The following details I can give you because I am new in this technology and would apprechiate if someone real can help me to get most out of this receiver

H/W Version OAK I&II 2.1
S/W Version HIC 1.05.00
Devie Driver Version HIC 1.05.00
S/W Last Update 4.Mar.2002
Loader Version H2.08
System ID 0016.0600

Bought this receiver back in Switzerland and took it along here to Russia. However, unfortunately, the dam unit did not work in the beginning and support from the shop was just not possible.
What I do not understand when I surf the website, then it appears to me that the System ID belongs to the IRCI-5400 and not to the IRCI-5400Z.

Also as earlier mention can not get the FunCard VI working with it, where as the shop guy mention this will sure work. Realised also that this unit is equipped with the Irdeto slot, therefore, do not know whether it will accept the Viaaccess card I have from the Swiss Television station. At this stage bought cards, i.e. FunCard VI and Viaacess are rechecked.

The Swiss stations are encrypted in Viaccess. You cant use an irdeto cam to watch viaccess stations! If the receiver has a CI slot you can get a viaccess cam for it.

Virtually all Eoropean station using Irdeto are using the secure I-2, so you cant hack them anyway.

Thank you for the information, this means I have to buy a cam viaaccess card, I use the humax IRCI-5400Z, which has too slots

How about the FunCard 6 can I use it with this receiver?

I sold a Fun6, fun4, one silvercard and one goldcard for just 99p on Egay! These cards are getting outdated.

cfphoenix: dont need crap comments, look for real information, so better use your time for something else then comments like that

Still hope that there is a guy, which can tell me how to program this Funcard 6. Real would love to use this card with the receiver.

Thanks for serious consideration to help a new comer out.

You can program any goldwafer or Funcard with a so called "6in1" Code, available on any downloadcenter. You will need a programmer, any cheap usb programmer will do.
The card then goes into the Humax Cardreader. It acts like a "starter card",it is not decoding anything,it just lets the Humax emulator go to work.
That brings us to the next point. You will need to put the Tux to Humax Software on to the reciever, followd by the aktual HOT Patch (5.7 at the moment).
After all that, and after you changed the settings in the HOT Menue to "Card and EMU" you will find, that your reciever will decode all kinds of channels, including the swiss package on 13 east hotbird. You will not need your original card nor a viaccess CAM.
The Humax 5400 is one of the best recievers ever build, extremly stable and very fast.I have two myself and did not find anything better in the last 5 years. Depending on the satellite you tune in (it also supports a motor) you get about 2400 Channels, a good 300 of them in English, dozens of movie and sports channels and of course plenty of "adult" entertainment.
The loader version and ID number you posted means, that you have a 5400z patched to 5400,if you hit MENU check if the first entry is HoT, if so, you already got all software you need and only need to check for the newest version (5.7)
You will need a Nullmodem Cable and a Windows computer. All Software is available free and extreemly easy to get.
All this might sound complicated,it is not. Believe me,once you looked around on the net for the Humax 5400,it is so easy,it should be illigal :-DOH!

Well, have fun with it and hold on to it, no other reciever is as easy and fast as this humax, even if you pay 3 times as much. Only thing missing is a harddrive but then, you can't have everything.

greetings
Chris

HBO and Cinemaxx will not work at the moment, but Golf is no problem. You will find the Globecast Feeds on 12.5west and of course the Golfchannel on 30west (Hispasat) in the D+ package.
Greetings
Chris
