Plug in the Humax Foxsat and the green rectangle starts looping on the front display. No boot screen shows via the HDMI or the SCART connection. This continues for about 2 hours (a guess) and then eventually it boots. Once booted it seems to work flawlessly.

Any ideas apart from the dustbin?

I sold the guy a Goodmans Freesat SD and he gave me this for scrap. Anyway I've got the PSU board out and those 2 capacitors are bulging a bit.

Sorry to say, but it harms Humax's reputation to penny-pinch the way they did with some batches of the Foxsat. Grundig, yes - but Humax?

Mine is an early one and still going strong (Anything that can be crossed is crossed!)

Typical Humax Foxsat problem. Crappy Chinese capacitors on the power supply board!

This problem isn't limited to Foxsats. Other Humax models suffer the same fate

I dropped some new ones in there and it works fine now.

Beats me why Manufacturers skimp on quality Capacitors >> This is like Grundighog Day!
