Humax iCord HD is broken!

Yes the iCord does have USB slots front & rear, quite a fancy bit of kit really.
Pendrive = Memory stick I presume? yes one was used for comparing/ doing the update.

To be honest, I didn't do anything. The software on the box was already the latest one available on a Humax forum, which is much newer than what is on Humax's official site. I can't believe how unhelpful their customer service is though.

I did load the new channel list, which is, yes, stick the USB drive into a USB port on the front. Press and hold the standby button, while powering the receiver on.

It was working fine this morning as it hasn't been switched on for a while. I suspect it might be a heating issue. The receiver has very little room to vent and is either sat on top or under the Sky HD box. It may be that it's getting too hot after a day or so and stops responding. In fact, I suspect it might be a dodgy power supply if needs a while to cool off before working again. Maybe bad capacitors? Not sure...

I suggested to Derek/DJD that the box gets moved to somewhere with lots of venting space - maybe outside the TV unit temporarily to see if it keeps working there. Until then, it's just a waiting game.

It seems like a pretty nice receiver and solidly built. Just a shame it's experiencing this issue... seems like it's not the only one according iCord forums.
 
Just to update - the original issue never went away, until I saw this:

Basically, a knackered power supply. I replaced the caps that it mentioned and seems to be behaving at the moment. However, it still takes around an hour to download EPG when it actually starts but at least it still works afterwards.
