Hello Peeps:D,

I'm sure you won't find it very impressive, but I've just received my serial cable today and managed to patch Fortecstar 5100 Ultra . Eureka!! tps and multivision back:) . Thanks for the advice. You were all right -nowt to it.

My cable config consists of usb to serial adapter (I have no RS232 port on laptop), male to female RS232 cable, and gender changer. Just had to change installed port from coms 5 to coms 1 in Device Manager. The whole lot cost less than £16 including express delivery.

well done, its great when you get that flashy feeling, just:

a) never unplug your cable when its loading
B) don't have a power cut
c) just generally never interupt the progress in any fashion!

I personally like to look away when the process is underway! :cool:

I obviously misunderstood when you said you could do the job blindfolded.

Didn't realise that this was a preference :D . Now i do!
 
I must be a masochist, I like to watch as the blue squares build up, one by one, along the nice straight bar and those last nervous seconds while it flash writes is almost too much, then I sit and have a ciggy. So far so good.
 
can u help me how did u change from COM5 to COM1 from device manager
