My Satellite Setup
I have a dreambox 500-s on hodbird, with broadband connection.
My Location
Cyprus
Hello Everyone,

I hava a DB 500 and i was wondering what the value of the following should be in order to have a good signal:

SNR
AGC
BER

For my DB i have:
SNR: 72%
AGC: 85%
BER: This varies form 4000 to 15000

What do you think is the problem for that?

The second thing i want to ask, is the free mature content card that came with the DB. I installed newcamd 6.01 and some keys from downloads but I cannot watch INXTC. Is there anything else I need to do, maybe download something, to be able to watch INXTC after inserting the card into my DB?

At last, what keys I need to download to be able to watch Multivision and Spice Plstinum?

I forgot to tell you that I am receiving from hotbird, and I have broadband on my box.

You need to get the ber to as close to 0 as you can, you are way out with 4,000 to 5,000. Between 0 & 30 sometimes does.
Download the config for newcamd with the blue button and make sure you are running newcamd and not the CI, to check press blue button and see what the default cam is. Latest newcamd keys clears the multivisions TPS and Spice. What Image are you using.??? Are you able to view any Channels on Hotbird by the way.

You put it there or are you using official image. What logo do you get a boot up???

Im afraid you dont seem to have any unoffical image loaded so. that was your problem all along. Now that you have the fwp for 7020. Download a gemeni image now using fwp. and see the difference. Bye for the night.
 
when i boot , there is hydra and gemini in the bootmenu
but if i donot chose one of the above images automatically this enigma thing comes

?

That's because you have multi-boot enabled you can pick the image to boot from...

Hydra
Gemini
Enigma - standard image

You have the standard Enigma selected as the default image. If you want to use another choose it at start-up.

do you mean Enigma is in the flash memory?
and shall i change it with another official image i.e flash another image , what john said
(in the above msg) i have no unofficial image , did not figure out mhat he means

Enigma is the official image and it is in Flash memory.

The others are in the USB or Hard disk, you can pick what image you boot from at start up.

Don't flash anything - just select one of the other images (Hydra or Gemini) at start up.

that is what i thought.....couldnot understand john in the above msg ...any way sorted.

i downloaded the fwp 6, tried to install more images in usb, put down the correct db ip
address 192.168.1.56, clicked on formate usb .....it say connecting then after seconds
.... could not connect check your parameters, i am sure parameters correct
because have no problem if coonect to web interface.

any tips
 
You can double check the IP address of your Dreambox.

Go to 'Expert Setup' and select 'Communications Setup' - the IP address will be at the top.
 
use scam 2.5 to clear the card m8 put it in chip down ok
