Icecrypt 4000HDPVR freezing crashes

Hi all
thanks for taking the time to read this
i am a little confused by the Icycrypt unit and have zero knowledge of sat systems but i have had this unit freeze up on me many times and have returned the unit twice only for the supplier to say that they can find nothing was wrong with the unit
I even had to record the unit freezing on my phone's camera and email it to them to proove i wasn't a compete nutter
Basically the unit will freeze and cannot be operated via the remote or face panel buttons.
I use the Icecrypt to record National Theatre Live showings and last night when i went to turn the unit off it froze and the recorded data was corrupted, i have tried the repair file and storage check functions from within the Icecrypt but it still wont play
However the unit is now functioning perfectly once more ?/
I use if connected to a Denon DN-A7100 pre amp if that has any bearing on things and i did note that prior to the i seemed to loose all surround sound options and only had stereo as an option?

Well it does seem to me that there is insufficient information to be able to start to analyse the problem. Are the recordings done manually or using an EPG?, are you stopping the recording manually? what size hard drive do you have? how full is it?

Hi sorry should have reported more facts
hard drive is showing 8% useage
unit freezes not just during recording but at other times also
manual recording method
I have emailed the manufacturer and await a response
just wondering if it is firmware related
or perhaps something with the hard drive mount
is there anything that might relate to postitioning of the unit?
it is in a rack with other items such as pre amp, main amp, a few other bits
other than that agreed a difficult one to analyze, i was kind of hoping someone might have had similar issues before i go back to the supplier again
