Hello,

I've just received my SS2 eXpress HD card and I've no idea what to do with it. I've used the likes of DVBViewer etc. before but nothing beyond that.

What tools do I need to make the most of it? I am thinking along the lines of CrazyScan and er.... that's all I know :(

Tips?

Thanks

I stopped using DVBviewer with my 6925 as i just use it now predominantly for 4:2:2 feeds, so basically just Crazyscan and VLC media player

Thanks Martin. I installed the card and drivers but have issues. DVBViewer scans and finds the channels. However, CrazyScan and BLScan cannot open the device for some reason. One is saying "StartDVBEx failed" and the other sees the device but says "Can't open device 0" (device 0 is the TechniSat BDA device).

This is on Windows 7 64-bit...

Any ideas? :(

I gave up on mine after a few days, I am sure it was a driver issue, I will return to it in the near future, google driver problems for card in question and try other drivers CJ,

What's your Streamreader version CJ? Check your Streamreader log (first line in log).
Also, a few lines down, Check for DVBEx?

"StartDVBEx failed" normally means for me I have the card active in other software like DVBViewer or Easy Blindscan Pro.

Stupid thing. I downloaded an older version of Crazyscan with an older StreamReaderEx and it's working fine.... Doh!

Llew, what version are you using? I am good with 1.0.1.56 here. But will work my way up to see where it stops working!

Good point remlap. Been there before :D

Seems you're using the buggy Technisat driver. Use Crazycat's latest.

I am using 1.0.1.94

There aren't any drivers though. Just some dll files, which I have in place already. You mean the Windows drivers, right?

Hm, well, downloaded slightly earlier version of StreamReader from Oct 2013 and it's working with the latest Crazyscan :)

What other goodies can I download? Is TSReader one of them? Will Lite version suffice or would I be better off getting a commercial one?

Hmm. Well this is my Streamreader, and it locates my device as TBS 6925, but I'm using a Skystar Xpress HD (same tuner chip).

Ok, that's the same streamreader version as I downloaded. Where did you get the drivers? There's absolutely nothing that mentions TBS card in my StreamReader log.

Can I just download TBS drivers from their site and use it directly for my SS2 eXpress HD?

Can you post a screenshot of your device manager?

You might like 4T2 Content Analyser -

http://www.4t2.eu/4T2ContentAnalyser.html

As well as DVB-S/S2, good for checking the 'hidden' DVB-T2 MI streams on a couple of satellites.
