good afternoon I have a 7020s and at the moment i am trying to get used to it as i am still not familiar with all this technology, i had a humax 5400z!!!
can someone pls tell me if i can use an extra image without deleting the original image?
for example if i have an image ex. xyz and i have another image saved on a usb stick and i reboot the db with the usb stick in it's port, will the image saved on the stick be installed when the db will reboot?
if this will happen will the original image saved on the db be deleted or if i take the usb stick out and reboot again it will go back to it's original image?
i hope you manage to understand my question!!

Hiya mate. You can easily multiboot by using Flash Wizard 6.3. Then you can have multiple images on either compact flash or usb stick, and set the boot image in FW.

If you want a change of image you change the required boot image on fw and reboot

If you totally break the image you take the cf card / usb stick out and restart the box - it goes back to the original flash image Then you can start again.

If you want to multiboot I recommend you get Flash Wizard 6.3 as it makes running a 7020 far easier. It should be available here on the site.
 
Get yourself a copy of dreambox edit as well - makes saving your channel lists nice and easy

can i ask you one more thing but this is a bit fishy!!!
i forgot my password can you tell me how can I find what is it? don't really need to change it just to find it and put it in a save place for future reference

If its not been changed the login will be

user root
pw admin (or possibly dreambox)

Theres quit a few of them. Post a new question about t here in the DB 7020 section - it will make it easier for the other lads to pick that problem up.
