Indoor reception?

Is there any technology available for satellite programme reception without the use of an outdoor dish and LNB, etc.?

Any kind of antenna or other receiving apparatus that can instead be placed indoors or at least 'behind a window' on the inside?

If so, what is the name of such a setup, its capabilities, limitations...?

I'd be grateful for any advice on this.
 
There are several threads discussing inside dishes, they do however need to be pointing out through a window and the window needs to face in the approximate direction of the satellite.

limitations come in the form of the direction of the window.

check these websites.
also, you may need to replace the glass and avoid using double glaze.
There are some alternate antennas. One is a flat antenna and the other is kind of a pipe (equivalent to a 55cm, but not sure).
just google it around and try to find a sollution. be aware of the size you may need and that even with plastic or plain glass you should expect some signal loss on certain frequencies.

I think I saw some indoor antennas there once in one of the galleries.
I myself was trying to find a way to put my dish in the attic but it's not sloped the right way.

I have an Attisat FL500 Flat Plate Antenna (FPA) and as performance on Hispasat indoors goes, it was as good as my 60CM dish, however, I've upgraded the LNB but haven't had a chance to test it yet. As for the pipe antennas (or as I like to call them, Satellite Sausages), I've not tried one before...

I've seen one for £125. perhaps you could place one right outside as they are quit slim.

I bought mine off ebay for just over £20, there's one on right now but it's at £31 at the moment, just do a search on eBay for this number:

230032995036

As I said, mine was about the same as a 60cm dish, so you may want to make sure that it can receive the satelites theat you're after...

As for shops, I don't know, however there is this website who have a Flat Plate antenna equivalent to 50cm for £109 (remove the _ when copying and pasting the address):
