hi was wondering if someone could explain what a indutive splitter do and also passive splitters or are they the same thing .many thanks

A passive splitter can be same. Passive means no energy is put in to amplify the signal. There are inductive and resistive splitters, inductive are more energy efficient in splitting signal but are narrower in their frequency range. There can also be capacitative splitters but I'm not sure if they are available.

thank u pual i have been using a inductive 2 way splitter made by fringe electronics as a exsternal splitter it has a dc pass for a masthead amp .but i have never used this facility.i kind of thought that inductive meant the signal was distrubuted equaly between the two out puts .

No, inductive means magnetic. Basically there are tiny transformers inside to split the signal.
