Intelsat 24 is the elderly Amos 1 (launched May 1996). She was purchased by Intelsat in late 2009 to provide Ku band coverage in the Middle East and Greece - Turkey areas.
In summer 2011 Intelsat 24 was redeployed to 31E to provide inclined capacity for the western Europe / Middle East markets. Two new coverage area maps were published.
