hi all i thought i give 31W a try,did a scan and 4167V 12422,pids are V288 A305 ppid257,the quality is a low 21% though its locking no picture or sound,it may need a bit more gain,i ruled out if it was coming from 27.5W or 34.5W when dish moves to either sat it goes completely, any ideas.

Hi Pride,

I checked this sat last night but couldn't get a lock on it, tried again this morning and still no lock but did a full blindscan and currently have CRBC Calabar on 3677V 1482. Seems quite stable at 4.6dB. it wasn't there last night when I scanned.

hi - folks -
been looking here this morning -- i cant see any signal at all for the channel aceb posted. (is it still active)
but i can lock (just) the frequency that pride posted - no picture or sound though. - my scan showed different pids ?
i,v never had a signal lock on the f15 before with such a low d.b. level -- it locks at 0.9 -1.0

please ignore the time/ date on the pics - i,m fed up of re setting it ---my f15 has a mind of its own regarding date/time -- the year was 1925 last week -- and 1904 the week before l.o.l.

cheers ---

hi aceb i will try CRBC later.

hi nelson_b strange transponder that one i wonder if its some kind of feed.

Hi Nelson, yes it's been there when I've checked throughout the day and still is, with the evening 'News Panorama'. Still no sign of Prides feed!

hi - aceb
tried a few times yesterday for - CRBC Calabar on 3677V 1482 -- not a trace of signal for me here . :(
4166 V 12422 will not lock today but is showing 0.5 db despite thick cloud conditions - more snow due here anytime -- so will leave this sat for a while now :)

cheers ---

I've not bothered putting it on this morning, heavy snow blowing through and a couple of inches of it building up on the dish. Too cold to even bother going up the garden to brush it off lol

Currently have my eye on getting a glimpse of CRBC ..
So far ..nothing ..but I must be close I guess.
Atm ..getting a signal which is quite variable over a 5 minute period
Averaging arounf 3.3 db on the F15 ..
Drops as low as 2.3 db ..and occasional pulses up to 4.4db....but still no sign of lock.
Is there a best time of day for this ? ..and what is the lock threshold ?

I guess I'm too far 'Out of Africa'..
too far North and West for constant levels ..but then ..this is extreme fringe reception.

I've not taken many SNR readings but going by the reported Q I'd say it was stronger at breakfast time than in the evening.

Cheers Paul ..
I shall drag my aching carcass out of bed early tomorrow ..and try again ..
You appear to have locked it at a constant 4.6 db ...so maybe I have a chance albeit a brief window..

Oh well ..I suppose I had to try..
at 12:30 last night signal very occasionally pushed up to 5db ..but insufficient to lock..so I went to sleep hoping that 7am might bring better results..
It was lower ..back down to an average of 3.3db..and by 9:30AM ..averaging only 2.5db ..
No sign whatever of this feed transponder 4166V ...which might have been a useful indicator that I was on target..
But for me at least the signal (which I assume to be CRBC) must peak somewhere between 12 midnight and 5:00AM

You could leave EBS Pro scanning it all night on a loop, check for any locks and the SNRs in the morning.

Only problem with this Paul ..is that the 6925 hasn't the gain of the F15 ..so unlikely to catch such a weak signal anyway.
..but maybe worth a try anyway.

Here are my values.
3677V 8.2dB
4114V 0 (not a hint of signal)
12344V 11.7dB
12341V 11.1dB

Weather was perfect -10 no clouds and no wind.
Have tried several times with 4114V but no results, wondering if ORTM has closed.

Like you I don't even see a hint of signal from 4114V, hopefully QWER or someone from the German forum will see this and check as ORTM was last logged there at the end of September 2012.

Hello,

4115 V is still active, but with low signal.

Best Regards
qwer.
