Could this see ES go fta in the long term???

FWIW, a channel flagged as Eurosport 3D arrived on the Freesat home transponder a few days ago although its currently encrypted..

Interesting one Ross, would be lovely if it was the same version as on analogue, as I prefer that mix of sport.

Thta is almost certainly a temporary channel for a Panasonic promotion. A repeat of something they did on Eurobird 9A (I think) last year for the US Open. See here _http://www.the3dmovies.info/2011/05/08/eurosport-to-broadcast-more-live-3d-tennis/.
Apparently Swisscom, Canal Digital and Sky Italy have already signed up for carriage and talks are in process with UK EPG platforms (Sky and freesat) but seeing as a French provider has exclusive rights for France it almost certainly will not be FTA on freesat as it is on the freesat transponder on Eurobird 1 with its pan European footprint.

well, let's watch today's press releases. You may find that you don't need to watch Eurosport to get Wimbledon in 3D...
