Hi All! Look what I've purchased today from local classifieds. Seller said the device was never been installed and I tend to believe him. The item has some scars, but they are from shelves and boxes. Warranty seal is not broken. Yes, the LNB is a little out of frequency range. Polarizer is working, it has end switches integrated, so, when 5V DC is connected it turns and stops, when polarity is changed then it turns 90* back and stops again. I do not know when I will be installing it, probably never, as I do not have any PFA dishes anymore. o_O

@tompouce Yes, LNB is old, but still can be used (in the range of frequencies). The mechanical polarizer is not so popular anymore, I think. I have many offset dishes, but not so many PFAs. Actually only 2 PFAs are left, one of them is used as painting for decoration of the garage, and another one is working in double - mirror system (Gregorian design).

On the other hand, such mechanical polarizer does miracles, it enables reception of signals which normally aren't receivable. Weak out-of-footrpint muxes for instance.
I've thought for a long long time that Astra 2/UK beam's DVB-S2 muxes aren't receivable at my site ... until I extensively played with rotating polarity (skew) on these muxes when suddenly :-jumbo. One would have to have extreme luck to set a fixed LNB in the position which allows such weak streams to get through other strong muxes on the opposite polarity. Sometimes even that wouldn't help due to weather & sun influence fluctuations, it's a matter of 1°-2° degrees rotation window.
Happy user of Chaparral's Ku polarotor though.

I've not seen a two wire mechanical design before.

It shoud be possible to change the scalar feed for something offset compatible.

Indeed, normally the magnetic polarizer used to be with two wires.
