Looking for info on public transport in Berlin (going in September) I came across this site, which offers real time maps of the public transport network. It doesn't cover the whole globe and naturally those public transport services which aren't linked via GPS or WiFi. (The UK is not well represented on this map either). Useful if you were in a city that is covered and you had access to the site...

Could always start your own bus service, only £3,350 for a Volvo Olympian double-decker:

Or just park it up outside and gawp at it in memory of public transport...
