Hello there,

i'm currently pointed to 97W T5 (Globecast) in Canada. I noticed that there is a channel on this satellite that is irdeto encryption.

How can I watch it?
I'm using a Free to Air receiver, and i'm wondering what i need to do to watch it?

I know that you don't allow to post keys, does this encryption use keys? if not, what can I use?

help would be appreciated.

thank you

Welcome to the forum nigel_miguel

As you are based in Canada there is a terminology difference here. In Europe FTA free to air means not encrypted. In Usa and Canada FTA means something else i.e. it refers to receivers which are fitted with emulators or patches and can accept keys, some AU auto update some do not. I am sorry I cannot answer your question any further as I do not play around with such things

What is the receiver model and does it have a CI cam slot or is it FTA only ?
If it has a CI slot then you need to buy an IRDETO CI Cam (or a CI cam with multi encryption protocols) and a smartcard subscription.
The list of channels in Lyngsat for 97W:
http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy25.html
They have links to the TV channels websites.
Check with the service provider Globecast if you can buy a subscription for the channels that you are interested in and if price is reasonable.
My guess is that they won't but they might refer you to one of their subcontrators.
If you want to watch without a paid subscription, then I am afraid that I can't help you.
