I have the digit alb, and thats tota cr*p!
any comments m8's.

It isn't bad dago, the quality is not as good as that of Sky, as the pictures are massively over compressed, but it will get you most of what you want.

what are you wanting to get from the package and I'll tell you what you'll get.
 
Also interested in ART info on footy would be, Commentry language, Picture quality and anything that I would not get from just buying a card. I have the receiver waiting. thanks.
 
On a full Art card from Mantasat, costs £125. for 1 year.
You get Art Sports 1-6 + Aljazeera 1 & 2.

Live 3 o'clock football on saturdays with english commentary, also whats transmitted on
Prem/Plus.

I have just installed a system at my friends house with the art package. He has a projector and a massive screen, probable bigger that 70 inches or so. The close up shots on football games are fine but the minute the camera zooms out and there is fast moving action the quality is really quite bad? Please can somebody confirm that this is normal? Is there anything i can do to improve the picture? I have a 93% quality reading on my horizon meter so i don't think i can improve on that very much?

Nope, nothing you can do, there is always a pixel mist/halo around the moving players.
 
Phew, thought i'd done something wrong! Is it the same for all the foreign sports packages? apart from sky that is!
 
Don't know, I only have the ART package and Sky, although I don't seem to remember TPS being as compressed.

TPS / Multivision are a French package of channels on Hotbird at 13 east.
There are two channels that show Premiership football, and lots of film channels plus general French TV channels. You can get these channels by patching your Technomate.

Still better off with the Art Sports package as they show every Premiership game with English commentary, but you will have to buy a card which will fit in your TM1500 alright.:)
 
If i wnat art satellite for the ffotball - where is the best place to get the equipment at its cheapest. What do I need? (I have no knowledge of satellite equipment).
 
Have a look at the banner adverts on the top of the forum pages, there are two or three of the advertisers who supply whole packages. :)

Every time you refresh the page, you should rotate to a different advertiser.
 
The only downside to ART that I see is the 4:3 ratio - compression is *acceptable* and the English commentary is using the same people who cover all the Sky Football First games - so not bad. It certainly doesn't look too bad on my projector (315cm diagonal on 16:9 content - probably about 240cm at 4:3 ratio) - it's from a DM500-s

The Arab adverts are interesting - Pepsi, Chevrolet, etc. The half-time Dirka Dirka discussion I can't follow (;)).

The plus points are compelling - pretty much EVERY EPL game live AND (most importantly) it keeps SWMBO happy as Sky+ is free for her use Humping [oh yeah, baby]
 
another dawback is that there is no English commentary on Champions league,unless you get Prime sports in the package(only on Nilesat)
 
just bought a 6mth card and put it on today for united v chelsea match and so far so good

the picture is very good on my 21" sony tv i use for my sat stuff

i would get one for rest of this season

Be aware that if you are going to be buying a system just for the footie, then ART have apparently lost the rights for the next 3 seasons !!!!!!!!

Nightmare in my case that is !!
