Hi friends ..
Maybe a silly question but it doesn't hurt to ask ..
At the moment I'm running 4 receivers and each stb needs to access the rather complex 5 dish system ..
To that end I have an 8 port diseqc 1.1 cascade switch the output of which is then fed to a daisy chain of 3 smart priority switches ...effectively providing 4 outputs ..
each output goes to a set top box ..
In theory each box switched on can control the complex dish/motor system ...and there is a priority order to this arrangement ...
It works ..though I have to take note of the box switched on and where it lies in the pecking order ..
I'd like to simplify it a bit if possible ..
Is there such a thing as a multiple priority swich ..
ie 1 switch 1 input ..multiple outputs ..prioritised to allow multiple boxes to be connected ...effectively emulating what I already have ...but in one package so as to minimise the wiring ...

...added diagram of my current setup ..
the area in blue are the switches I'd like to combine ..

hello,
i never heard of this .
did you kane the diagram??
ralph

Appologies Ralph ...not sure I understood 'kane'

The setup definately works ....though the last boxes in the chain do get a 3 or 4 db reduced signal ..
Interestingly ...one of the priority switches is an old Global SpS1 ..
It defaults to channel A ...whereas the other jaeger switches default to channel B ...so the diagram is slightly wrong ..but you get the idea ..
I've just re-wired again ..to set the boxes so that they have the following priorities ..
P1 = DrHD F15
P2 = Cuberevo 9000HD
P3 = AZbox premium
P4 = Openbox S9HD

needless to say in order for the Openbox to function and control all dish inputs ..
the other 3 receivers have to be off ..or at least in standby..
etc etc ..
What I want is a single switch that will effectively replace all 3 SPS switches ...and have priorities in a fixed order..

..Not sure if this will clarify ...or confuse even more ..
but here's a photo of the actual switch setup in the loft..

Hi VS looks ok to me labels and all but in that picture at the black unit at the bottom is that one of the old half gig frequency shifters? if not what is it?

The black unit hanging like a bridge between the two jaeger sps at the top is actuallu the old original Global SPS1

rare as rocking horse poo these days ...but still fully functional.

I suspect you are refering to one of these ...(yet another relic from my 'retired' bits draw).
...and another throw back to the old days of analogue..
