Wait for updated software perhaps.:)
 
Yes T*S have changed encryption recently. Look for updated patch for your box or buy a subscription!
Updates are available for some boxes, but not all. Good luck!
 
On some receiver types we have it and on some we don't.

Some receivers with auto update system like statsat sr-x 4000D (as I've been told) we have all the channels every time and everyday, or those having the USB port while on the old ones we don't have. Better saying that mine is sr-x5D and I can't watch anything.

Yes as I said above patches are available for some boxes. Unfortunately my Fortec Star Patinum is not one of them, so I'm about to look into using a softcam to do the job.
I know very little about softcams in general, so if anyone's got advice/info I'd be very interested.
Will keep you posted on how I progress.

You don't need a softcam as you dont have a patch. You would need to get an actual CAM to plug into your CI slot, after you have programmed it.

Or get a receiver that is patchable.
 
Thanks Robbo, I'd better start saving then.... is it worth looking now, or would it be better to wait till the HD capable boxes come down in price a bit? I'd be looking for a low cost well supported box, Technomate springs to mind, but not Fortec Star Passion as I'm not going down this road in another couple of years. Enthusiast software for the Platinum is now non-existent!

I don't really know what's the difference between srx- 4000 and srx 5d. as I've been told they've higher capacity of flash memory or something like that and won't never ever have problems with The French channels.

The Flash size and its type is important.
 
here TPS AU is down again... with cccam 2.0.8 and on kaon too!
 
The new patches for TPS channels are now available on satdw.com, “mine is ok now”. Download yours and upgrade your receiver for a better performance.

Thanks arbi, unfortunately still no working patch for Fortec Star receiver, unless someone knows where to get one.
However, I am getting Premiere German and it is AU, don't ask me how I got the package, I have not installed a patch, it came on all by itself....good though, I'm not complaining!
 
Make the most of TPS - the channels start being removed at the end of April with a total closedown in the autumn
 
Do you know why, Anologuesat? Is it an encryption change?
 
TPS merged with Canal Sat last year. The programming is being concentrated onto 19E.

What about the rest of the world? Would there be any French channel on other sat's? What about the rest of the people living in other continents, what should they do?

TPS and Canal Sat are dedicated subscription packages ONLY for Fance.
Same as with Sky UK is supposed to be only for the UK or Sky Italia only for Italy.
The rest of the world can receive several French channels, usually FTA like TV5, Arte, etc.
You can always buy ABSat (Bis) which has many French channels on Hot Bird 13E.

BIS.TV is selling a package of French channels, which you can receive from Hotbird at 13°E or Atlantic Bird 3 at 5°W. Technically you must live in France, Monaco or Andorra to subscribe. BIS seems to have something to do with AB Sat and presumably they think there is a opportunity to undercut CanalSatellite and pinch some of their old TPS subscribers.

Another alternative is the TNTSAT package at 19°E. You need to buy a Strong or SAGEM sat receiver equipped with Viaccess 3 for about 150€ - 230€ in your local French hypermarket or electrical store. The card is already in the box and should work for four years with no additional payment. I am not sure though whether you need to get the card authorised or give a French address. People also sell these receivers on *bay.

A lot of the French public TV channels at 5°W are still FTA on digital TV.

TPS change keys every few minutes so manually entering them is useless.
If your receiver is patched, with a working patch for TPS, tune to Sci Fi France, or other channel on 10873 V 27500 until it clears then you can view the other channels in the package.
