From the first cut in that old UPS heatsink on 20/11/06, to actually drilling holes on 23/09/11, I FINALLY got the BSB Minidish's new LNB bracket made up and fitted!!! :-worship

It still needs neatening up and painting, but, it's on, it's fitted, and it's straight(ish), I would have used a boxy LNB, but the bolts I used (those ones off a sky minidish with the square section under the head) wouldn't sit straight if they went into the bracket first, so they went into the dish arm first where they're more secure and centred, but it works... :D

Anyway, some pictures:

Congratulations. There's nothing wrong with being absolutely sure before committing yourself.

Measure twice, cut once I say.

Thanks, all I need to do now is actually test it out, just to make sure the alignment of the LNB is up to scratch... :D

Nice. Next weekend I plan to try my dish and see if it's worth using permanently.

You should, they may not perform like they did with the original Marcopolo satellites (being high powered and highly focussed on the UK), but they produce a respectable and usable signal on a good day, just as per their sky minidish descendants, in cloudy weather they'll drop most digital signals, and there's not much of Analogue left to maintain a watchable picture (something the perpetrators behind the various DSO's in the many countries never really thought about, cos digital falls over in the slightest deviation in signal, whereas analogue doesn't do much other than have a few sparklies on the go in heavy snow!!!), but the dishes have more style and character than a modern minidish...:D

And like you saw via my other posts, when initially trying out my dish with a modern LNB, I was using it indoors, behind a window, with closed curtains, and I think it was also a rainy day (rain = boredom = me being experi-mental!!), I can't recall if I tried using my Silvercrest digital receiver at the time, I was more interested in Analogue, cos it's more fun... :D
