Italian TV in UK without future encrypting Black outs?

I want to have access to Italian TV in UK, the main channels e.r. RAI & Chanel 5 will be fine, don't need Sports channels etc. Wondering which is the best inexpensive system, that requires no further costs after installation? I understand that things are changing concerning encrypting certain chanels, what system will avoid any future encrypting Black outs? Thanks Bruna

What you need is a TivùSat box and card and a 60cm (or so) dish aligned to Hotbird (13E).

Have a read through some of the Threads (there aren't many) in the TivùSat sub-forum and then come back and ask about anything that remains unclear.

The OP specifically wants RAI & Canale 5 - for the full programming on these channels he requires a Tivusat system as they encrypt many programmes

RAI is quite good, they don't like to encrypt too many programmes, and that is their official policy. Hence RAI Gulp is now in the clear, for the benefit of children outside Italy. Canale 5 and the other Mediaset channels are more likely to go black.

It depends on what you watch - hence Dustyjoe has not noticed it. If your favourite programmes were blank you would be worried, like the OP.

So do I ...... for now.

One of the issues is that when the population of Tivù equipped households becomes sufficient, more and more of what is now FTA will find itself Encrypted (but largely Subscription free - a bit like the "FTV" stuff from BSky.

So we would not advise anyone with a long term interest in those Channels to rely upon a generic Receiver.

PS: I suspect "he" = "she" ................... The clue is in the name!
