have you noticed, that some HD channels same FEC \ bitrate \ frame rate/res \ etc, can appear inferior in quality to others which are catgeorised as HD

i compared a few on TurkSat tonight, and interestingly, the channels which appear more HD, and "less" blocky - have something called ITU-R BT.709 in the stream.

Color primaries: ITU-R BT.709
Color transfer function: ITU-R BT.709
Colour space: ITU-R BT.709

i googled it, and its some kind of standard, i always though it was a bitrate issue, as to why some appear better than others.

an interesting find anyway.

PS the channels i compared were TV100 HD, and KANAL 7 AVRUPA HD on 42e - FTA

over, and out.

Interesting observation. Last night when I checked TV100 HD was around double the bitrate of KANAL 7 AVRUPA HD, though KANAL 7 was showing upscaled SD at the time.

There's very little difference between the commonly used colour space specifications in HD DVB broadcasts. Unless the video decoder has incorrectly identified which one is in use you most likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I'm not seeing anything special with KANAL 7 or anything particularly wrong with TV100. Maybe I just need a better television
