Can anyone confirm that these frequencies are still working over your side of Europe. I am suspecting these have moved to Eurobird S1 beam as we have lost them here in the Canaries.

Both frequencies being received here in central Italy but with much higher signal quality. IMO have definitely moved off Astra 2A north beam.

I have lost 12402 V here in Gran Canaria.

Are you saying the channels have moved TP of that these actual frequencies have moved to another satellite? Wouldn't the latter be very odd?

I very much doubt they have been moved to Eurobird 1.

So what is going on?

No local interference, because the signal loss is experienced in many areas, like Malta and the Canaries

Analoguesat says unlikely a move to Eurobird

This leaves little left for other explanations.

The frequencies are the same, just in my case I now receive Channel 4 with 100% signal quality, up to yesterday I never had more than 40% signal quality as Astra 2A north is weak here. For example Sky Sports News breaks up here until 5pm, Sky movies only appears around 6pm, all north beam channels. I would always lose Channel 4 if it rained.
But I agree with you that it would be very odd if they have moved to another satellite and kept these same frequencies, it would be my first time coming across that one.

We can rule out a switch to EB1 - her offical transmission range is outside the affected frequencies:

11200-11700
12500-12750

It is as if the beam has moved East. It is possible this is unintentional?

If Astra have moved the beam it is the first time i see this.
And why not doing it with 2D where most freesat channels are?

sorry does that mean that the signal went bad in Crete and then improved?
Or simply that it has improved on what it was previously as with Italy?

I would have assumed that if the beam had moved from 2A as the guy in Italy suggested we would have had a chance of improvement in Malta just being below Sicily - I guess fairly from Central Italy though

ITV went this morning in Malta too

I don't know about anyone else in Malta, but our ITV has been rough for the past 2 days. I tried everything thinking it was our dish ....but no

Up until about an hour ago it was on and off. Now its completely gone.

E4 and E4 + 1 are hanging on by a thread and channel 4 is completely gone too

If these phenomena are not due to the activities of the Satellite Operator, then it may be worth considering whether there are any unusual conditions affecting propagation: The factors affecting Ku Band signals are complex yet anomalies can often be boiled down to the same (or similar) primarily ionospheric factors that affect HF Comms etc.

So is anyone active in Amateur Radio, for example, aware of any unusual prevailing conditions? (Although Class A Licensed, I am wholly inactive these days).

Don´t you find it´s a strange coincidence the channels disappearing are ITV and Channel 4?

Yes, of course - but until we get some definitive explanation, no possibilities can be ruled out, apparent coincidences notwithstanding :)

Astra will never give us the definitive explanation if this is done on purpose,so we´ll have to find out by ourselves:)

Yes.Anyway something major is happening.
2 tps have been lost in many territories.
Fringe reception before this has been quite stable, the equipment installed years ago usually is working the same now as before.

What if they have been moved to 2B North, being difficult in the Canaries but maybe a better footprint for the those that are East
