ITV HD available on new sky HD box software

Got my new EPG on Tuesday, just in time for Man U game on ITV HD!
Bit of a shame ITV HD not straight on on the existing EPG though, think Sly & ITV should get their acts together! Having to manually scan in seems mega naff to me in this enlightened technical age in which we live?
Excellent quality however once you get through the new menus to find 'Other Channels'.
So far, to be fair, I DO like the new formats etc and am getting on with it fine - really like being able to see the channel you start off on displayed in small screen top right corner - yes, all in all its very good! :)
 
Just wanted to say thanks to Analoguesat!

Works like a charm on my new EPG. Indeed only nice for those matches that $ky Sports HD doesn't cover, but way better than installing a freesat box for the one show they air a night (on a good day that is)...
 
Logically I suppose that when Sly & ITV DO actually get their acts together, ITV HD will be either number 141 or 142 on Sly EPG platform, as Chan 4 & BBC HD already occupy 140 & 143!:-rofl2

My Samsung received the new software overnight and ITV HD working fine on this model.
 
Are Sky HD boxes the only receivers that can scan in ITV-HD directly without having to manually input the VPID?
 
I've got a Sky HD+ Thompson box, (I freely admit to being a technical illiterate BTW), + I came to this thread quite late. I've always felt that it was a total regression having to watch football on ITV in non-HD so many thanks to Analoguesat for what seems like a brilliant tip.

I've added the channel but now can someone tell me EXACTLY what steps I need to take to get ITV HD on the odd occasion they have a match worth watchING?

As its not in the epg you will need to watch it via the OTHER CHANNELS menu.

(Services 9 on a normal Sky+ box, not sure what it is on an HD box - can someone post the correct sequence??)

its on the new hd epg

services button on remote to go to options and then scroll along to add channels

Sorry, I obviously wasn't very clear.

I found 'add channels' and got that far before I posted - I added the channel according to Analoguesat's specifications at the beginninng of the thread but it didn't appear in my list of Other channels, How do I do it?

What I'm also asking for is what buttons do I need to press on my remote in order to get ITV HD once it appears on my list of other channels.

It appears as channel no. 10510 in Other Channels mate, so all you do, once youve actually added it, is to go into Other Channels and select 10510.

Its a bit silly that you have to go this route to watch the channel however a insider tells me it will be on the epg by June when the full ITV service begins in HD. By the way Eire viewers will not see it on the EPG only UK boxes will work this way .

Are there any N.I. viewers receiving both RTE and ITV on the same EPG as a matter of interest ?.

I have heard it will be on Sly EPG by 2nd April 2010 mate!

Only in England Wales & the ITV Border Scotland areas. It wont be on the epg in Ireland, the Channel Islands or the STV parts of Scotland
 
any know when the channel starts on 178, I heard it was going to be on ?
 
Came on as expected on the 1/4/10 mate!
