ITV HD on DM800 step by step quide?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get ITV HD working on a DM800? It is a channel that is supposed to only be available on Freesat HD receivers. However it seems lots of HD receivers can be manually programmed to receive the channel.

AFAIK the channel is available on EuroBird 1 (28.5E) - 11426.00 H - Txp: C5 - Beam: Steerable 1DVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 2/3 - NID:59 - TID:2315

AFAIK the details are:

SID: 10510
VPID: 3401
Audio: 3402
PMT: 3400
PCR: 3401

So the question is how do I set up the DM800 running gemini v3.6 to receive this channel?

There is not much on at the minute. And trying to find listings is harder than splitting the atom. Heres one, but as I say theres not much being broadcast at present. Next programme aint till Sunday. Are you getting the radio screen on your 800. If you are I think your tuned ok, you just gotta wait.

Hi guys. I tried this when I first got the 800 with no luck. Its easy enough to enter the manual information into DreamboxEdit and add it to a bouquet, but I still got nothing. If I remember rightly I read about the video stream being some odd ball codec packaged inside the 264 codec and so basically the dreambox simply could not process the video stream. Could anyone confirm / expand on this at all please ?

Hi,

I tried adding the details to the channel which had the correct service ID, I only got a blank screen. Is that how it should look now? I was hoping to get a "ITV HD" logo or test screen etc....

Anyone got it working PLEASE let us know...

I had a look on other forums and it seems even the test logo went off on the 02/09/08. If anyone knows this to be incorrect could you put a screengrab up so we know what we are looking for. Though we will know for sure come Saturday night when Shakespeare in Love is due to be broadcast.

You got more than I did m8 Lol. My box has been playing up a bit today though. Picure break up on nearly all my channels. Originally thought it was my C/S server but happening on BBC1 too. It aint temperature related as my little usb fan keeps it nice and cool. Gonna re-flash it and see what happens.

Well I got it working.

You need to add in your lamedb file


0f06:011a0000:090b:003b:134:0
ITV HD
p:BSkyB,c:000d49,c:030d49,c:040d4a,c:050001,f:5

This solution is not mine, and it comes from the ___www.dreambox8000.com forum.

The lamedb file is located at /var/tuxbox/config/enigma2

Then I needed to do a rescan and a power cycle. "ITV HD" will then be listed and you can add it to your bouquet.

I have been watching the "ITV HD is currently unavailable" screen for the last few days and now I am watching England vs Kazakstan. Picture quality is pretty good. I don't think it is as good as BBC HD or the SKY HD channels but its a massive improvement on the horrible low bit rate ITV SD channels.

In fact it is the first improvement in picture quality since the advent of DVB-S and DVB-T ITV broadcasting. (I always thought the high quality analogue transmissions of old offer more detail than the over compressed low bit rate SD transmissions.)

The background does show artifiacts from a low bit rate as the crowd does not have the detail visible as on BBC HD or the SKY HD channels.
