I have just purchased a Humax HDR 320 Gb. I want to record the FA Cup matches this weekend, but have to put it on a timer. Will it automatically sence the programme is broadcast in HD, or will it only record in SD ?

was wondering if you are you able to pick itv hd??
they are using h222 and most boxes can not get this.
is itv hd 24 hours??

No problem here in Spain (120 miles south of Benidorm) 24 hour reception on 95% of the channels. 100% on ITV.
Only 5-10% on ITV is broadcast in HD.
 
If you want to record in HD on ITV you have to select it on the EPG.

Open the EPG on 103 and move to the required programme. Don't press the record button - that will only record in SD; instead press the enter button in the centre . This will open a window and you will have an option to record either the SD or HD version. Choose appropriately!

If you've already set the recording then pressing the Enter button wil first of all give you the option to cancel, which you want to do as it will be the SD you've chosen.
