Got 10mm aluminum plate 262mm x 262mm and also 2 aluminum angles. Those 2 angles will be screwed to main plate and when they properly adjusted than welded.
Most likely I will replace U-bolts to INOX-made.

What dish are you planning on using with this motor? I am now getting a tad worried about some stories of the main body breaking apart - the metal plate underneath is a very good idea...

I've also heard stories about this motor breaking apart. Example is here. Therefore some people were using additional self-made metal plate inserted inside the motor. Perhaps Jaeger also sold such a plates. Motors are all old now and aluminum corrodes in open air during those years. So, it (precautionary measures) is almost must be done just to be sure your antenna do not fly away at some windy day.
If I ever install antenna to Jaeger than it will probably be 1,8m aluminum PFA or, if I am crazy enough- plastic 1,8m Prodelin.

Last job is a AJAK Horizon 180 , it has a reedswitch to a 5 magnet wheel , attaching a hood of a 50 mm pvc drainpipe with 48 slots to that wheel , was exactly the need for my latitude .

Hi!
Not properly in argument, does anybody know if PROFORM H-180 H-H mount ( I guess rugged AJAK 180) is strong enough for a CHANNEL MASTER 3M SMC dish^?

Rimant, how much does the Prodelin 1.8m weigh? Just looking on various sites and a Laminas 1.8m weighs 20kg, Channel Master 1.8m weighs 47kg and the Prodelin 1.8m 72kg!! It almost weighs as much as I do! Are you sure it's a good idea to mount that on the 1224?

I lifted a Prodelin onto its mount the other day. It was a two man job and even then it was a back-breaker. The idea of hanging that dish on a 1224 is madness in my opinion.

I've seen Prodelin hanging on Ajax hh motor. If Ajax can do why Jaeger not? Yes, Prod is heavy dish, nevertheless I managed to install it alone on ground stand. OK, anyway, I should finish Jaeger restoration/mod job and only then attach some antennas to it.
2 putussat: I think 3 meters it is too much, even for Ajak

Agree with Wipersan: It does not matter how big is stock of your INOX nuts&bolts, doing some mod-job you always lacking parts you need at that particular moment. I always take more than I need thinking that one day will not need any, but, as usually need some in addition.
I did not get too far with my motor restoration, just collected majority of nuts&bolts, drilled several holes. But still need to do much more like make 35mm hole for mount axe and cut-off unneeded parts of aluminum plate and so on and on.

How are you going to drill a 35mm hole? That would need a heck of a drill-bit!

Just to show progress (very little but progress). After some work with jigsaw and angle-grinder aluminum plate started to follow the shape of the motor.
Central, 36mm hole is still to be drilled, but I have time, no hurry at all.

Wow - that's a thick plate! Didn't look this thick in earlier pictures.

Plate is only 10mm thick, you simply do not see clear line between plate and main body of the motor (perhaps picture is not clear enough).

Quiet a time elapsed since last changes in this enduring project. Today hole for mount shaft was drilled. Further idea is to extend shaft for some 5-10cm to make antenna more stable. All bolts, nuts, screws, washers, of course going to be INOX :)

And for cables to enter motor-box, got such glands. Those have 16mm entering thread, so just need to drill couple of holes in aluminum and by using standard M16mm tap make internal thread.
It is also to get them made out of INOX, but that would be too much
