Yes sad news, he was a fantastic singer. And I seem to remember that he had written some songs on a recent album.

Indeed, very sad news.First time when I listened him in 1969 struck me first of all his unique voice.As if that voice was trying to release a soul tormented by a powerful emotion and fail to express it fully.I thought he was giving his soul with every song and you had the feeling that it is exhausted, tired of himself.Paradoxically, it is precisely this excruciating condition gave birth to a very strong emotional sound that was passed to his listeners.That voice was equal to itself throughout his career until now when God released it.
