Welcome to the forum kungu

I have moved your post from the 500 thread you tagged it on to, to the correct 800 section. Why would you be wanting to jtag a new 800 stb?

Good afternoon,

Thanks for move. My dreambox 800 is dead, the only sign of life is the ethernet lights on the back when i power on. Have tried all other methods like null serial upload and other tricks but to no avail. Have searched for jtag on dreambox 800 but seems the only Jtag information is on Dreambox 500.

DM800 can not be jtaged, serial connection is the recovery.

may be the power supply is broken ,try to use another power supply ,i saw some thing similar once the light doent mean anything because the capacitors inside could be damaged

Good Morning Sonic 1,

Why cant the dreambox 800 be Jtag. What is the use of the Usb port located inside on the Mother board near the card reader?
Tries the serial connection but to no avail. When i power on i only get the ethernet light coming on.

Thanks for your reply. The power supply is ok as i get the ethernet port lighing up on the receiver when i power on even when i use a different power supply.

Not sure if this is true of originals, but you need to push the power lead into the box, quickly pull it out, then push it back in, to power up the DM800's

Have you tried this?

Good afternoon Titty,

Have also tried this about ten times but to no avail. The is a usb port place on the circuit board near the smart card reader. I think one can use this for USB JTAG. Will do some reasearch and hopefully it might work.

You can't JTAG through a USB port. You have to interface directly to the JTAG connections on the board. The MIPS core of the DM800's CPU will be accessible via those connections, but I'm not aware of any programming available (yet) to do the job.

usb port for multi image on usb stick also you can use as a smargo reader too if your box dozent power up it means one of the diot gone

yes you can jtag dramboxses no problem you have to open box and take serial connection out then put jtag in ican send you file if you like
 
long time age i heard DM7020 have second bootloader and don't need jtag.
now DM 800 is same 7020 have second bootloder i thnik you cant jtag dm800

any update of your dreambox?? my 800hd is dead:-Nooo and exactly like urs one, if you had a solution please share with us

On, send back to supplyer and told them hardware fault, it will be 't least 2 week before i hear anything from them. Sucks.

On an 800HD you need to *wait* before reconnecting the power.
Can be as much a 5 minutes. Otherwise it stays dead.
 
i did send back my box but i know some people fix that by using serial flash enforcer

here is two solution
No ca found by 2nd stage loader
This can be done in 2 ways.

1) You have to have a working dreambox.
2) DM800_repair, you alter dreamup to be able to use greyed buttons.
Now for the first sollution.
1) Connect working dreambox DM600/DM800.
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When dreambox is found by dreamup, insert Null-Modem cable in
the broken dreambox.
4) Press flash button, and chose a firmware.
5) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
6) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
7) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)


Now for the second sollution
1) Connect broken dreambox DM600/DM800
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When you see second loader error popup, just press ok.
4) Open _http://www.gsmsweden.com/forhike/sat...stage_pack.rar
5) Drag DM800_repair in front of dreamup, and press dream multimedia logo.
6) Now press the greyed Flash button, and chose firmware.
7) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
8) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
9) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)

can anybody help i have a dm800 can get channels but no hd (s*y that is) please can anybody help

i have GEMINI 4.4 for the DM800HD PVRS and the newest bootloader 75#. it is a clone from china this is just so i dont waste anybodys time
