Ka band e

My kit only goes down to about 17.6GHz and is linear polarised. I use Norsat 9000HX-03b-BN and modified Gilat band B LNBs on a 1.2m Prodelin. So far the only things I have found are the beacons on Mentor 4 (44.1E incl)



& Mentor 6 (52.8E incl).



Both the above are very strong and can easily be seen using Crazyscan. The transponders on these satellites seem to have very wide band spread spectrum and cover about 18.1-19.9GHz.

There are data TPs on the Band E MENA transponder on Es'hail 1 (25.5E) centred on about 17.765GHz. They are about 200MHz wide. Since I was using a linear feed, I'm not sure if there are one or 2 signals (one on each pol?). They can't be seen at all on Crazyscan and are way below the level needed to lock. They are very nice sharp spectra in the first two pictures.
If they are software generated can you share what software it is, the style looks familiar?

I`m a big admirer of your enthusiasm s-band and you really deserve our big hank you for everything you have showed us so far in different bands. This is mostly because you always try to find a different way to get to the best results.
So I hope you won`t mind if I post Peon`s pictures of his lnb. Yes, he`s a smart guy who likes doing things exactly the same way, but sometimes chooses to get a professional equipment to get to the goal without any doubts or loosing time for uncertain results.
That`s why he has bought a Norsat 9000HE-4 lnb for the lowest Ka band that covers 17.2-18.2 GHz (L.O.: 16.25 GHz) range.
He may be the first and the only one sat enthusiast in the EU who has Ka band completely covered (17.2 - 22.2 GHz), but unfortunately he has had no time to fit the last lnb to his dish and make a band scan on his visible orbit 97E - 54W.
That`s why you s-band deserve my big thank you for exploring this last uncharted territory of Ka band.
I deeply wish Peon finds some time during the winter to compare his results to yours and (perhaps) discover a few more spikes that are up there in the sky.
