My Satellite Setup
King Dome 13" on RV
My Location
Idaho USA
Hello,

We have an RV with a 2 year old King Dome 9630. It worked well for a long time but now when we make a trip I can locate the satellite easily but after about 6 hours I lose the signal and no amount of trying will get it back.

Then when we return home I can again easily locate the satellite.

It seems that something in the dish might be getting hot.

I am absolutely lost and no one seems to be able to offer any suggestions.

Help!!

Welcome to the forum rlandram

Just remember, some of the terminology is unknown to us as we are predominantly a European forum. So this is some kind of satellite reception unit that is fitted to a kind of motorhome?

I would guess you are correct in your assumption of the overheating, is the unit DC powered from the battery or is it running through an inverter?

Thank you for your response. It is powered by 12 Volt DC through either the inverter or the batteries.

I called King Dome and the technician thought it could be one port of the LNB but could not be sure.

Is it possible to remove the cover? is the LNB recognizable? Looking at the spec it says dual LNB. Are both in use or could you select the other output?

I believe it is a dual input. Would selecting the other input possibly help?
