I have a laptop with Windows 98 that I have not used in over 12 months.

My problem is that when I try to start it,it asks me for a password that for the life of me I cannot think of. Does any one know a way around this password problem.

Either look in the manual to see if there is a way to do it through the BIOS configuration menus, or work out how to clear the CMOS by removing the battery. You'll probably need the manual and maybe a special tool or two to achieve this (to open the case).

If you don't have a paper manual, you should be able to download a soft copy.

Would be far easier if you could remember the password!

Have you tried entering nothing (just hitting enter)?

Mmmmmmm...... Internet..... Doh!

I can't remember life before the Internet.

What did I used to do with all the spare time I must have had?

Hello All

Jimmy - if you are still there...

What software did you find/use?

Might be useful to have this on file.

Regards
