I need to replace my Dreambox. Emailed Dream Multimedia to find out who distributes it in UK but got no reply. Found satstore_co_uk website but they have no stock, emailed to ask when they would get some but again no reply.

From posts found linuxsat_co_uk at £125 inc delivery so emailed (as must be clone at that price) and got a reply so impressed with that (as no official supplier bothered).

Question is, has anybody bought from linuxsat_co_uk. Did they supply it quickly and does it work. What are their after sales like? Also is getting a clone a good idea (save over £100 but is it a false economy?)

I know that Gemini can not be used on it so what images can be used on the 600 and which is the better?

Yes, relatively, Yes, and I dont know about after sales, I have not had the need to contact them.

It probably depends on the quality of the clone box's hardware. Personally, I cant tell the difference between the clone I bought for someone else and the original I own. The clone has been working perfectly on my motorized system since I received it.

Nabilosat Darkstar2 would be a good bet. I've not seen a more well featured image.

The 600 Clones are generally very good. I've had quite a few pass through my hands in the last few months

With regards to the images, read on.......

Ok here goes with the images i found worked well on both my Clone and original DM600Pvr together with how i rated them :-righton


Nabilosat Darkstar 2 ....... 9/10 Stable most of the time, Packed with Goodies.

This is definitely image of choice :-worship

Powerboard Enigma Ver 3 ....... 8/10.. Very stable but a bit boring

EDG Nemesis ......... 6/10 Worked Very well but its a pain to set emus up on as they aren't in the blue panel and you have to download them into Var/tmp and install manually 2

SIF Images....... 6/10 Full packed image but it made my box fall over quite a few times.

Pli Jade ......7/10 Stable but very boring

Gemini 4.60.... 3/10 Will probably kill your clone, and is a bit boring, although stable
The modded version of 4.60 works a treat on my IPbox :-omg

Gemini 4.20.... 6/10 The image is generally OK on Clones and is very stable but still really boring !

Hey, got mu 600 from them couple of months ago is clone but built very solid and not had any problem with it. im using pli jade,
It was with me the next day so no complaints here.
