LNB connection problem perhaps?

Spent a damp day installing new kit as per my signature, completed hardware install ensuring perp pole, then spent an unsuccessful half-hour at day's end trying to find a signal. 'No or bad signal' reported across the heavens - 'Strength' = 80 and 'quality' flutters in the 20's. Moteck unit moves OK so I'm guessing the connections are good between the TM and the Moteck, starting to suspect the connections between Moteck and the LNB. Do you agree? Any suggestions for tomorrow? (I'm at 4.2W and targeting Atlantic Bird3 at 5W as my reference sat instead of Thor).

Try TP 11591V (full details on lyngsat), you should get a whopping signal of that.

If the signal strength is high, I don't suspect the LNB.

What LNB is it?

More than likely unable to find your ref satellite.

As per the guides start with motor on zero and dish centre on motor shaft. Input Longitude/Lat into USALS and select a channel on 5W( in your case). Dish will move approx 0.8° and stop. Then start with the dish slightly up from vertical (although these EL scales are accurate, trust me!), you can set the EL to a rough 22 -23° if you wish. Move the dish & motor together around the pole until you get a lock on 5W, repeat slightly adjusting the EL as you go. Make sure you have an active transponder highlighted on your receiver (assuming your using the rx to set up the dish).

Robbo, my LNB is the Invacom single uni SNH-031.
SM. Followed your guide which is why I used Atlantic 'cause it's almost directly opposite my long. Now, what's the bit about the LNB? Is there a menu page I can check this? The tv's playing a family DVD right now but when it's free I'll take a look.
