ops ...got a doubt: surely I will have to place the pole higher, will it be enough long ?

Yes might be an idea to raise the mast a bit.

Just to tease you :) please find attached 2 pics with a Gib 125 on a CT hh390 and on a Jager 120
Looking at those installs it's not just the motor they short cut on.

I have just found out that there are 2 Gibertini series (L and XP) but I can't see the difference a part the price (higher for the XP)

Lauro,

I am also checking out the Gibertini and noticed there were two versions of what appeared to be the same dish.

The only performance difference seems to be that the XP range is 1cm larger (105?) and has a slight increase in db, 39.9 instead of 39.4.

However, this does vary with the various sites I've looked at. What I'm not sure of is what difference in quality readings an increase of .5 of a db would make?

Probably aluminium versus steel.

Yes I got the same feed back ...both verisions are in aluminium only 1 cm of difference...:)....on its web-site the X version can't be displayed.

Let's see if @satelliteman's comment if 1 cm can justify 10 or 20 euro ...personally I don't think so :p

Huevos,

Both standard and XP versions of Gib 1mtr are definitely alu. From the illustration I've seen the lnb arm is painted the same colour as the dish and the lnb holder seems to be more substantial.

Whether this makes the extra money worth it remains to be seen..........any takers?? Oh well, it might be me then :-rofl2

Good luck Pete :)...from your Triax 88 or my Penta85 to a Gibby 100 we will have more fun :p:p:p

Another reason for upgrading my sat-system is due to the fact that the Penta hits the horizontal wall if I go further than 53 est (my mistake:mad: )

Finally now I can place the Gibertini higher in order to go everywhere :-rofl2

If anyone wants to look at this more expensive Gibby try here

Though I have found it cheaper where I bought my Vantage receiver

Looks like the LNB holder is metal, not plastic. Also the back plate and LNB arm are more substantial. The back plate is 6 bolts the dearer one and 4 bolts the cheaper one.

The full list of differences is:

  • Back of reflector treated with in lacquered paint

  • Feedarm painted in same colour as reflector

  • Solid Diecast LNB Holder 40 mm

  • 6 reflector fittings instead of 4

  • Feedarm pre-assembled

  • Massive wing foot screws with key access

  • Ties at the bottom

Please excuse my Google assisted translation - especially for the last item!

Checking on the other (cheaper) German supplier's site, I noticed a further difference in the specs.

Gibertini 100cm - 97cm x 104cm

Gibertini 100cm XP - 98cm x 105cm

I wonder if that extra cm all round would make a difference?

I am very tempted but probably not until later this year;)

Well I have a Gibertini with 6 reflector fittings, plastic 40mm LNb holder and it's 105cm tall but... no wing nuts.

aaaaahhhhhh - it's the special wing nuts!!!:-rofl2:-rofl2:-rofl2

Tsk!

Your are, of course, unique :)

if you are fitting that dish on a motor, it might be best to replace the wing nuts with some proper nuts them to avoid the dish coming loose or just double up with another set of them

should be a very nice dish, least the elevation adjustment will be better than the triax have.

Is there any quality % TP's comparison between a Penta85 and Gibertini 100cm ?

I'm writing down the Penta one's just to see how and where I will gain ...is anyone interested in knowing that?

Had both dishes and the Gibby will perform marginally better on weaker satellites due to it's overall size.
