LNB output to another receiver...

Would it be possible to run a cable from the LNB out on the DreamBox 7000 to my FTA receiver and view the channels off the DreamBox from the FTA box output?

As the DB doesn't have an RF out or would I be better fitting a long SCART cable - you can get them up to 50 feet!!!
 
It's only a loopthrough, so you'll just get raw LNB IF data into your FTA box.

Or two DBs!!

Thought the loopthrough was only for an analogue receiver.

Seen it in what satellite magazine. It said the loopthrough was for a 2nd analogue box. When i was using it with my s*y box had to knock one off and look at another. (See my other thread)

It's for digital recievers as well.I have a Coship connected on the Humax loopthrough.I can also use the motor with the second reciever.
 
i want to add a dreambox to my existing setup which is a gbsat2CI0 receiver with a disceq 1.2 motor and a 1m dish with a 0.3 lnb single output. How can i do this without using a double output lnb? what cable can i use with the loopthrough?

Shielded Coaxial - same as goed to your LNB with F connectors at each end.
 
so what can iwatch with that setup, anything that is on the satellite the dish is pointing at or just the channel the gbsat is watching or jus that transponder or what?

Bit complicated answer but I'll try. With a single cable only one box at a time can control the motor and you can only watch the Horizontal or vertical polarity at a time.

Example - you move to Hotbird - both boxes can see that satellite and one picks a channel on a horizontal polarity - this switches the LNB to horizontal.

The other box can also watch any other horizontal channel - if it picks a vertical polarity one the signal will switch the LNB and the other channel will be lost.

Does that make sense?

Yes, It's simply a buffered output to a second set - whatever your LNB is configured as will be available on this output.
