LNBF C BAND SETUP - STRONG SRT L926

My Satellite Setup
C band Strong SRT L926 with noise figure 17K lnbf + 65cm offset dish
My Location
SERI KEMBANGAN, SELANGOR MALAYSIA
I'm from Malaysia. I have a C band Strong SRT L926 with noise figure 17K lnbf to setup at 65cm offset dish. Wanted to get ST2

I am really confused. Don't know how to install & setup the lnbf

I've checked some websites for setting skew and it tells me to start the LNBF from a vertical or horizontal (depending on TP polarization) starting position and turn clockwise or counter-clockwise.

But the question is how I determine the starting position for my LNB?

The Strong brand has nothing on its exterior that shows polarization.
 
Welcome to the forum. I'm not familiar with that LNB but I would start with the label facing up for linear (H/V) polarisation (if your channels are circularly polarised (L/R) then it doesn't matter what position you use) and once you've found the satellite then twist it for best reception. If that doesn't work try looking for the channel on the opposite polarity (since if you have the LNB the wrong way the polarities will be reversed).

65cm seems quite small for a c-band dish although maybe the signals are stronger in your area. If you are using an offset dish you'll need a feedhorn that suits that type of dish too.
 
ST2 is H/V polarity in C-band.

Theres not much available in C-band of ST2 though.
 
65cm is WAY too small for C band. You'd be very lucky to receive anything on that size.

LNB starting position should be at 0 degrees pointing down - there's a scale on the back of it.

Thanks for your info. Just wanted to check with you if the lnb skew was 77.5, so where should I turn the lnb....
By the way, I able to received the signal for ST2 KU about 75-80 is that means my area signal was strong?
 
Ku signal strength is not comparable to C-band strength - C-band transmission power is often substantially less than Ku off the same satellite.

I cant find any maps with the actual expected downlink powers on it, but C-band reception can require dish sizes anything from 1.2m to 4m plus.

We dont have many members in Asia - you will need to find local experience as to what size dish is required.

The skew of the C band LNB will be the same as the Ku band one. But ... the dish is still too small so don't expect any results.
 
I will change the 90cm dish but I am really confused how to adjust the LNB skew to 77.5? If the starting position was 0 degrees pointing down, so 77.5 should pointing be where?

90cm is unlikely to wield you results as well. An absolute starting point is 120cm but probably need bigger, unless you know someone locally who can receive this satellite in C band on a small dish.

Imagine 0 degrees is pointing down and 90 degrees is the 9 o'clock position. 77.5 degrees would be somewhere near 8 o'clock. So rotate the LNB clockwise until the 0 degree marker is pointing somewhere near the 8 o'clock arrow position.

You don't need it for linear polarised satellites, which ST2 is. This is only for circular ones, which are generally used over Europe.
 
There is a little hope , i made a week ago a test with a Triax TDS 64 at Express AM44 at 11º W
Received clear TP 4013 R Steerable beam 41-44

Captain Jack gave you a matter of fact explanation. You couldn't go wrong.
You have the '0' degs marking pointing down on your Lnb. Just keeping turning the LNB clockwise until the '0' degs mark is somewhere near the 8 o'clock position. But having said that I, too, think that a 90cm Dish is way to small for C:Band

I give up.......... You have the wrong feedhorn anyway. It's designed for a prime focus dish (a large one) not an offset one like yours.
 
He has a conical ring,as I can see.
Zero mark is for horizontal polarity.
