I know this is a rare request in this day and age, but I need one. A good HDD PVR with manual timer (with repeat daily/weekly) and recording from scart input. HDMI output would be nice but not essential. Anyone know of any of these rare beasts. Old models ok as happy to get second hand.

Thanks in advance

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Plenty of Panasonic DMR series on eBay. The EX768 is the non HDMI version and works very well, though you cannot disable the copyright function (I have a way round that though)

Hi,

Thanks CH for that, I had a look at the Panasonic DMR-EX85E DVD Recorder 250GB HDMI Freeview box. Seems to do all, though manual doesn´t state you can select scart/AV input for timer recording. Does it definately do this? Any cheaper models without DVD?

Maybe you could PM the HDMI trick for future reference, not needed in this case as source isn´t HD.

Ok misunderstood.I am going to use a HDMI Splitter one to TV one to a HDMI to Scart converter to PVR, unless you can suggest better way.

Well I sourced one in UK, then I found one here for 25 euros, so got that as well. Doing research its hard to change the hard drive, due to Panasonic firmware that needs to be installed on the hard drive.

Why would you want / need to change the hard drive ?
