As the title. I want to adapt the audio out of a television so the audio can be heard when the user is using the headphone socket (for his headphones).

Ideally using the digital output socket but I could utilise a SCART socket if absolutely necessary. And mains powered with DC adapter so it can be strapped to the back of the television.

Thanks in advance

I didn't see a headphone jack on that unit, it calls for an L/R RCA plug to headphone adapter, some headphones don't like the levels coming out of the RCA jacks as they are fixed at one level, then again I didn't see anything remotely looking like a volume control on any of the units.

You're right, though it shows a set of headphones in the images connected to RCAs.

Found this one though

Well that's not bad, good price, but it uses a micro USB connector/cable to run it for power.

I'll have a spare one of those somewhere, the customer just wants something that does what is mentioned above and will pay for fitting.

If his TV set has a USB plug on it then your set, the last one you posted would work fine.

And its arrived, complete with USB cable

Will run it up over the weekend

Looks good, I hope the audio is not at a fixed level, he may need a set of headphones with a volume control.

The Sennheisers come with a control, already checked.
