£71 postage from USA brings to cost up to around £200, more local option needed.

When they were available from Andrew, the Research Concepts RC2000 series dual axis controllers were around £125 plus delivery if I recall correcly, single box solution that controls dual axis, pro grade kit.
 
We here state side have seen some bad reviews on that one.

Mostly due to under-power problems with some actuators.

I was looking at these the other day,
I'm trying to find a box that can move a Coax driven motor, I can't find one anywhere.
 
If anyone wants to buy one of them Titanium ASC-1 jobbies, I have one here that I would consider selling.

Agreed. This one is a later version and a good price Research Concepts Inc. RC2000 Dual Axis Antenna Controller RC2KA | eBay and if anyone buys it I'll make you an offer for the polariser controller board (orange connector).

Agreed. Tried one in Greece, struggled to move a dish that most controlers would cope wih.

There was a threadon here with a member offering upgrades, effectively replacing the whole power components board.

You sure you want to buy it, its a pile of tripe and not fit for purpose? However, if you want to eat tripe its yours for £100 delivered. I have two of the Research Concepts RC2000 dual axis controller units so I am happy to offload this Titanium ASC-1 piece of junk.

Hah! What a way to sell :D I thought it was dual axis but it only has single axis with skew control. Also, looks like this unit has a relatively negative opinion worldwide, so I will pass.

BTW, there's supposed to be a new one coming out soon - wonder what that will be like and whether Titanium have learnt any lessons from this.

At least I was honest with you and told you what my personal view was of the unit. If you had decided to buy it then you were buying it knowing it could have problems. To be honest, its probably not as bad as people make out. I think that most of the earlier problems were associated with using it with DiSEqC and that these issues were resolved via a firmware update.

However, compared to a Research Concepts RC2000 dual axis controller, the Titanium ASC-1 is just a piece of Chinese junk, my personal opinion of course, others may have a different view.

I did look at RC2000 but the lack of DiSEqC control is a deal breaker for me.
 
I don't know the ASC-1 but inline with MB's sales technique: Anyone want a Primesat Ez-2000? It does work but the off load drive voltage is low (~24V from memory), the transformer is noisy and the mains lead cracked after minimal flexing.

Not DiSEqC but I found the most reliable, best performing, basic positioner is the Uniden UST-771. They may be 30 years old but apart from replacing back-up batteries my 3 are still fine. https://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/attachments/ust771_flyer-pdf.96480/

Someone who can code encryption/decryption engines should have no problems writing a DiSEqC interface :p
 
Not me. I am unable to sort out my car engine let alone one with an interface.:(
